When Disco Inferno (post-rock pioneers in UK during the early 90s) combusted in 1996 amidst inter-group dust-ups, record company indifference and an audience who didn't know quite what to do with them, it looked like yet another case of a band resigned to history's “minor cult” drawer. A few years later Ian Crause released the single "Elemental". It was a fantastic, intelligent pop record with the spirit of Disco Inferno and the melody of New Order embedded within. Crause sounds like one of pop's great lost philosophers - which he is. The release of the single coincided perfectly with the return of Ian Crause's enthusiasm to once again take pop music somewhere else. This was his second EP, with 3 songs of shimmering pop which show his ability to mix bittersweet melodies with intelligent lyrics.
