Damon & Naomi - "The Earth Is Blue"

Recorded at their home studio in Cambridge, MA in 2004, the CD marked their first studio release since 2000 and the first for their own new label 20/20/20. The album reunited Damon and Naomi with guitarist Michio Kurihara of the Japanese acid-folk band Ghost. With The Earth is Blue Damon and Naomi continued exploring the dreamy psychedelia developed in their first group (the seminal Galaxie 500) and in earlier recordings as a duo. This release expands their sound and their vision of modern pop music. Delicate harmonies and intricate melodic lines dominate the album’s 10 tracks, including two covers: George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and Caetano Veloso’s “Araça Azul.”
