Bélmez - "Apariciones"

Active since late 2004 and consisting of Jaime L. Pantaleon and Jose Rossello (members of the cult Spanish  experimental band 12twelve and also well-trained live musicians for Anticon’s SOLE) and Marc Anglès. Taking audible inspiration from the third Velvet Underground album and slowcore pioneers Codeine, the challenge was sing in Spanish. The result was something akin to sadcore or –let´s say it- post-slow-core, always approaching traditional Spanish folk music. Like Neil Young singing in old Castillian after eating a tortilla of tranquilizers. “Apariciones” was recorded 100% live and on analog tape and has been mastered by Bob Weston (Shellac) at Chicago.
