“This Song Is A Mess But So Am I was started as a project with the sole purpose of providing me with an output to deal with my mother’s death from cancer in 2003 when I was 19. This is a deconstruction of electronic dance music. It was recorded in my bedroom, with vocals being poorly recorded in a closet, mistakes left in the recordings, sounds tweaked with so much distortion they are beyond recognition, and sloppy programming. I really want to stress the fact that this is electronic music that is really distorted and raw. I think it brings this deconstruction of electronic music down to a human level.
